Meet Your Future Self

Note to future self: You will wish you had done this exercise sooner. But really, it’s not too late.

The exercise I want to share with you here is a personal exercise that I love and it's an exercise that I encourage a lot of my clients, if not every client that I work with, to do. From executives, multi-million-dollars and multinationals, all the way down to the sole trader. It's called the Future Self exercise.

You see, we all have an internal idea of who we are now, and on some level, we have an internal idea of who we want to become. But we never take the time to actually visualise that person, to actually look at them and experience them as they are. And the exercise is quite simply, taking a moment, closing your eyes perhaps, and visualising a version of yourself 12 months from now, who has achieved what you set out to achieve financially, personally, socially, physically.

Noticing how they walk, what they say, how they look, how they stand. How you feel in front of them. And really trying on that person, hearing what they have to say, and sure enough, learning from them. The thing is, the more you can be that person for yourself, the better your results will be. Walk like them, talk like them, dress like them, think like them, behave like them, have the standards and attitudes and expectations of them, and the results will follow.
